QuickBooks... It's here (version 1 that is)

It's been a long time in the making but it's finally here! Hours of conversations, many late nights, more cups of coffee than we can count, and a few gray hairs is all it took. Like everything else on Stich Labs we think you're going to like it because it's not only super useful, but also super simple.

In 3 easy steps you can export every invoice and payment in your database into a nicely formatted file that one step later can be imported directly into QuickBooks desktop.

Why would we stop there, is that what you are asking? Well we didn't. I mean, who likes using QuickBooks? I'll tell you, accountants and pretty much only accountants. So, rather than make you create some crazy way to share your account with your accountant, or whoever is interested, or download and email a bunch of files we thought it would nice to create a little repository of all the files and let you email as many as you want to whomever you want at one time right from within the program. Wow, that was a mouthful.

Here's a sneak peak:

This view shows a new button on the order page if you enable QuickBooks export in the admin area.

Here is the first screen. It simply shows you the invoices and payments that are going to be exported.

Upon clicking export a file is generated for you, yes just one file, for all of the transactions. Whether you have 1 invoice or thousands of transactions they all live in one nice easy to manage file. You can download it right away and we save it for you so you can always download it later.

To import it in QuickBooks goto File>>Utilities>>Import>>IIF file. And, well, that's it.

This is a view of the admin area where you can do 3 things:
  1. Activate / Deactivate QuickBooks export if you so choose
  2. Download previously exported files
  3. Email as many files as you like to whomever you like without having to open your email client or download a single file

We're working very hard to bring you more features, but I wanted to share this with you because we're really excited about it and, for our customers who use QuickBooks, it's a giant leap in the direction of full scale integration.

If there is another feature you want us to work on don't hesitate to let us know. We're available by phone, email, SMS, blog comment, smoke signal, carrier pigeon, and even face to face communication if you happen to stop by the office. We're all ears.
